Dear Sydney Trains,

Business Risks International (also known as BRI security) currently have an active contract to provide security labour for Sydney trains.

Dear Information,

I already contacted contracts and procurements almost a month ago, and they have acknowledged my question but have chosen not to respond after that.

Would it be possible to get the answer from you, or is it the case that I must go through contracts and procurements?

Yours sincerely,

Brendan

Dear Brendan,

You have to go through the contracts and procurements as we are unable to answer your question.

For us to do a search, you can lodge an Access Application under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act) https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/about-u...

There is an application fee of $30, which you can pay by credit card, cheque or money order. Alternatively, you can make the payment at your local Motor Registry or Service NSW office, should you wish to lodge the application.

I have also attached the ‘Access application form’ and ‘Credit card authority form’.
Please review the TfNSW website information prior to making an application. Please note that an application will not guarantee access to the requested information.

Mostly I classify a response like this one to say "clarification requested" because the agency has told the applicant that some more information (or money!) is needed before the request will be processed. This time, I have put the response in the category of "refused" because it is more than 1 year since the agency responded and the applicant has not made a follow-up. This does not mean that the agency will refuse the request when an application is made in the correct (required).
