Tree data

Luke Bacon made this Government Information (Public Access) request to City of Sydney

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Hello City of Sydney,

I would like the most up to spreadsheet/database file that contains data about the location, type etc. of all trees in the City of Sydney area. I'm looking for the equivalent data of what you can see for LGAs in Australia in OpenTrees.org http://www.opentrees.org/#Launceston-243...

If possible could you just provide a link to the data if it's public, or treat this as an informal/administrative request. If that's not possible, please treat this as a formal GIPA request.

Best wishes,

Luke Bacon

City of Sydney

Thank you for contacting the City of Sydney.

We aim to respond to enquiries within 10 working days, however response
times may vary depending on the nature of the request.

Dear Makrina Poljakova,

Thanks for passing that along and the quick response Makrina.

I'm actually looking for “the equivalent data of what you can see for LGAs in Australia in OpenTrees.org”. I should have clarified that the crucial bit is longitude and latitude coordinates for every single tree. The spreadsheet or database I'm looking for is probably what was used to create the street tree maps in those master plan PDFs. The document I'm after will probably be in a spreadsheet format.

Thanks for your help,

Luke Bacon

Hi Makrina,

Thanks very much for this. Would you be able to send this through in a spreadsheet or text format, rather than the PDF format?

Also, would you mind asking the team if they could explain what the different columns are? :) I'm not familiar with this location format. Thanks a lot for your help, people will really appreciate this.

Yours sincerely,

Luke Bacon
