The request was refused by Department of Defence.

Dear Department of Defence,

I write to you under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 seeking
any and all written documentation such as, but not limited to;
letters, emails, notes, press releases, statements and faxes held
by the "Department of Defence" that refer
to arrangements and or contracts between the Department of Defence & Microsoft to extend Windows XP support beyind April 2014.

Yours faithfully,

incog_guy

FOI, Department of Defence

UNCLASSIFIED

Good afternoon
You requested the following records: “any and all written documentation
such as, but not limited to; letters, emails, notes, press releases,
statements and faxes held by the "Department of Defence" that refer to
arrangements and or contracts between the Department of Defence &
Microsoft to extend Windows XP support beyond April 2014.”

Our initial assessment indicates that, in accordance with Section 24AA of
the Act, a “practical refusal reason” exists in relation to your request.

Specifically: you have not provided a date range for your request nor an
author, position or group/service for us to seek documents from. Without
this information we would be required to ask everyone within the
department if they hold documents that relate to the scope of your
request.

You now have the opportunity to withdraw, revise or indicate that you do
not wish to revise your request.

Your request will not be processed further until we hear back from you. If
we do not hear from you within the 14 day consultation period, which
commenced on the date of this letter, we will assume you are no longer
interested in the processing of your request, and we will close your
request file.
Please note, that you will likely be charged a fee for the processing of
your request.

Good afternoon
Thank you for your prompt response, I have interpreted your scope as the following:
"all documents between December 2013 to present, held by Defence Intelligence and Security Group that refer to arrangements and or contracts between the Department of Defence & Microsoft to extend Windows XP support beyond April 2014".

Please let me know if this is not correct.
