This is an application under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act).
I seek access to documents concerning:
i) correspondence between the Attorney-General and/or his staff and Mr George Pell and/or Mr Pell’s staff; and
ii) correspondence between Mr George Pell and/or his staff and the Attorney-General and/or his staff.
A search of all items in the Attorney General’s/his staff’s email programs using relevant search terms will yield multiple relevant results.
In making this request, I note the decision of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal in Dreyfus and Attorney-General (Commonwealth of Australia) (Freedom of Information) AATA 995, where it was found that the Attorney-General processed an FOI application under the FOI Act with the intent of undermining the objects of the FOI Act.
I request that, for the purpose of this request, the Attorney-General put aside all vested commercial, political, personal or other interests and process my request in a manner that complies with the obligations imposed on him by the FOI Act.
Is there a particular reason why you haven't complied with the obligation imposed on you by paragraph 15(5)(a) of the FOI Act in relation to my request?
