Dear Department of Veterans' Affairs,

I refer you to evidence (on oath) given to the Royal Commission into Defence and Veterans Suicide by Ian Lindgren of the APPVA and I quote:-

"She (The Secretary of DVA) placed me on a committee known as the ESORT Multi-Act Working Group, which -- I have actually never met anyone who has heard of it before, but it is actually an interesting venue to attend".

I seek copies of any and all documents (including drafts) that relate to the history of the ESORT Multi-Act Working Group, its inception, members invited to attend and why, who they represent, their roles and responsibilities and all minutes taken and reports prepared for the benefit of any Ministers of DVA.

To be clear, I do NOT consent to business email addresses, names(in full) or business telephone/mobile numbers being redacted. Personal or private details MAY be redacted.

Yours faithfully,

Arthur Jordan

I refer to your Freedom of Information request to the Department of

**********To be clear, I do NOT consent to business email addresses, names
(in full) or business telephone/mobile numbers being redacted.  Personal
or private details MAY be redacted**********

The Department is actively processing your request and two business areas
have so far located several documents in scope of your request. Currently,
a third business area is finalising their searches for documents in scope
of your request. Given that a decision on your request is currently due
next Tuesday 12 January 2023, and considering the mandatory Christmas
shutdown period that has just passed, we are seeking an extension of 30
days under section 15AA of the FOI Act to complete searches for documents
in scope of your request and assess them for release. This would mean that
your request would be due on 9 February 2023.

If we are in a position to make a decision on your request earlier than
this date, we will endeavour to do so.

The statutory period may also be extended if we need to consult third
parties or for other reasons permitted under the FOI Act. We will advise
you if this happens.

If you agree to our request for an extension of processing time, please
advise us by COB Monday 9 January 2023 if possible. We will then notify
the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) of your
agreement under section 15AA of the FOI Act.

If you have any questions about your request, please email

Dear INFORMATION.ACCESS,
Dear Ramona,
I refer to your request for a 30 day extension of my FOI request. I am aware of the staffing constraints you would being experiencing at this time of year.
As I have said previously, it is not my intention to be adversarial, despite my experiences with previous staff at DVA. Therefore, I am prepared to consent to an extension of time of 15 days to allow you to (hopefully) complete your fulfillment of this FOI request.
Happy New Year to you and yours.
Kind regards,
Arthur Jordan.

Yours sincerely,

Arthur Jordan

**********To be clear, I do NOT consent to business email addresses, names
(in full) or business telephone/mobile numbers being redacted. Personal or
private details MAY be redacted**********.”

The purpose of this email is to inform you that, after consideration of
the documents located to be in the scope of your request, we have
determined that there are a number of third parties who may reasonably
wish to contend that information contained in the documents is exempt
under section 47F (personal information) and/or section 47G (business
affairs) of the FOI Act.

We are required to consult with these third parties under section 27 and
section 27A of the FOI Act.

In accordance with section 15(6) of the FOI Act, the consultation
requirement extends the statutory time period to provide a decision on the
request by 30 days. This means a decision on your request is now due on 24
February 2023. We will endeavour to provide you with a response before
then if possible.
