James Smith made this Right to Information request to Queensland Auditor-General as part of a batch sent to 204 authorities

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Queensland Auditor-General did not have the information requested.

Dear Queensland Auditor-General,

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act.

I request documents related to the ten most recent instances where an employee has sought information, advice, guidance, or opinion on their social media use in a private capacity.

I limit the scope of documents to:
- the original request from the employee
- the agency/department's response
- any follow-up questions and response
- only those sent to a relevant HR / conduct / social media (or similar) team (rather than managers across all areas of the organisation)
- where the original request was created in the last 2 years

Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully,

James Smith

Queensland Audit Office, Queensland Auditor-General

Dear Mr Smith

Thank you for your email.

In Queensland, the Freedom of Information Act was repealed in 2009 and
replaced by the Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act).

Based on a preliminary search, it seems unlikely that the Queensland Audit
Office (QAO) would possess any information meeting the scope of your
request e.g. specific requests from employees about their use of social
media in a personal capacity. However, should you want QAO to conduct a
more comprehensive search of its records you would need to lodge a formal
application under the RTI Act.

The QAO would be happy to provide you with a copy of its current social
media policy as it outlines the responsibilities of employees using social
media.

How to apply for information under the RTI Act?

As you are seeking access to information that does not contain your
personal information you are required to:

-       submit a completed [1]Right to Information and Information Privacy
Access Application
-       pay an application fee of $48.00
-       provide specific and detailed information about the documents you
are seeking
-       state an address to which notices can be sent.

The QAO can accept the following types of payment: cash, cheque or direct
debt.

If you have any questions please contact our office on (07) 3149 6000.

Kind Regards,

Jennifer King
