Campion College Please Explain Letters
Dear Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency,
This is a Freedom of Information Request for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act 1982.
I seek access to all correspondents and documents held by TEQSA relating to Campion College Australia relating to Stephen McInerney or Stephen Chavura, produced since 1 July 2025.
Please exclude duplicates and documents already publicly released, including media releases, reports, articles and statements to the media.
Please limit emails to the final message in the chain as long as previous messages are captured.
I agree to having the names and direct contact details of non-senior staff removed, however I request that redactions do not include non-personally identifying information. For example, please leave the domain and job titles when redacting email addresses or signature blocks on emails.
I preemptively agree to requests for third party consultation if necessary, but would prefer that my information about my identity is not shared with those consulted.’
And finally, as we come near to the Christmas Period (Merry Christmas to you all too!) I provide a preemptive consent to a 30 day extention should it be needed by the Christmas period of reduced activity.
Yours faithfully,
Glenn Hamiltonshire

Dear Glenn
Happy new year and I hope this email finds you well.
I write in relation to your request (below) for access to documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act).
As your request covers documents which contain information concerning the business information of an organisation and individuals' personal information, TEQSA is required to consult with the organisation and individuals concerned (under section 27 and 27A of the FOI Act) before making a decision on the release of the documents.
The consultation mechanism under section 27 applies, amongst other circumstances, where we believe the organisation concerned may wish to contend that the requested documents are exempt because their release may adversely affect their business or financial affairs. Further, the consultation mechanism under section 27A applies when we believe the individual (or their representative) may wish to contend that the requested documents are exempt for reasons of personal privacy.
For this reason, the period for processing your request has been extended by 30 days to allow our agency time to consult with the organisation and individuals (section 15(6) of the FOI Act). Accordingly, the processing period for your request will end on 27 January 2026 and in line with the extension you kindly offered us which we are grateful for.
On a related note, we have been experiencing some difficulties with getting in contact with those we need to consult due to them not having returned from their leave. We are wondering if you would be prepared to agree to a two-week extension from the current processing end date (i.e. until 10 February 2026) to allow us sufficient time to finalise the consultation process and come to a decision.
Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely
TEQSA FOI
