COVID-19 FOI Request - ASIC's "No Action Letters" Hayne Royal Commission - Part 2

Phillip Sweeney made this Freedom of Information request to Australian Securities and Investments Commission

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Phillip Sweeney

Dear Australian Securities and Investments Commission,

Two more 'star' witnesses at the Hayne Royal Commission were former NAB CEO, Andrew Thorburn, former NAB Chairman, Dr Ken Henry.

Richard Gluyas reports in The Australian {12 August 2020} that ASIC sent Andrew Thorburn a "No Action" letter in December 2019.

Andrew Thorburn departed NAB in February 2019 after the release of the Final Report of Royal Commissioner Hayne, along with Dr Ken Henry.

The first document I seek is a copy of this "No Action" letter sent to Andrew Thornburn by ASIC in or around December 2019.

The second document I seek is a copy of a similar "No Action" letter that ASIC would have sent to Dr Ken Henry after his testimony at the Royal Commission.

Yours faithfully,

Phillip Sweeney
