Your FOI request seeks access to documents related to ASIC’s decision to
no longer monitor inquiries received via ASIC’s Twitter/X page ASIC
Connect which is the Twitter/X page for ASIC’s Registry services.

 

Your request asks that ASIC consider processing the request
administratively.  Whilst we have not conducted searches for any documents
falling within the scope of your request, ASIC’s Registry Services team
have provided the below by way of explanation as to why the relevant
Twitter/X page is no longer being monitored ( as of October 2022):

 

The decision was made to no longer monitor the relevant Twitter/X page for
the following reasons:

 

•          reduced resourcing available to manage posts on social media
and the ongoing costs associated with maintaining the ASIC Connect social
media platforms

•          posts not receiving significant engagement/ low quality
engagement and benefit to customers

•          the fact that genuine enquiries could be managed by ASIC’s call
centre

•          access to all relevant information being available on the ASIC
website

 

Could you please advise whether providing the above information satisfies
your request or whether you wish to proceed with your formal FOI request
for documents.
