The applicant details for Hunt: Showdown might be Jens Schäfer, [email address], 49692197766. The applicant details for Battlefield V might be Missy Bedio, [email address]. Some of the names appearing in email for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare might be Allen Corona, Ben Perry, Chris Wilson, Eden Millard, Henry Zurawski, Jack Kleckner, Jeremy Anderson, Miles Winzeler, Misty Noor, Paul Virgin, Todd Mueller, William Cranmer.

Personal information of junior ministerial staff and Departmental officers below the Senior Executive Service (SES) level, mobile phone numbers and signatures of Departmental SES officers are not excluded from the scope of this request. Unsigned duplicates are fine for films I want only decision report of if it is faster to search and retrieve them.

Try not to redact the first 6 digits (or the BIN) of the credit card number, country code of the phone number, domain of the e-mail address.

Screenshot showing data from the database means the image of the application displaying information about the film or game. It has more information than what is publicly accessible at www.classification.gov.au . Some of the texts might be hidden, those texts can be given separately. There may be links to other documents, those documents can be given separately.

Dear Requester

Thank you for contacting the Department. Currently your request does not meet the requirements of the FOI Act as the documents you are requesting are not clearly identified. Please provide the Department with clear descriptions of the information you wish to access and describe the documents with full sentences.

For example, 'note, report, email and its attachment to/from/cc applicant and staff, screenshot showing data from the database, application and its supporting material/attachment excluding game' does not read clearly, and as such does not clearly indicate what you want to access.

Please also carefully consider the amount of material you would like to access. We note that you are interested in many different games and films. If we were to interpret your request as being for every document in relation to the below list, the request would be too large for the department to process, and/or would result in the imposition of significant charges.

In relation to classification decisions, the Department is able to provide access to reasonable requests for decision reports at no cost, outside the FOI Act. If you would be satisfied with receiving these, please let us know.

Regards

Melissa

Does the department have videos for the first 4 games in my request?

More than 12 months passed from the classification date (if not including games from the applicant IARC). The application (found at http://web.archive.org/web/2019071717085... on page 7) says "Contentious material recordings or gameplay will be retained for 12 months after which it will be securely destroyed."

Dear Requester

Thank you for the email below. Your request in current form, as outlined below, is considered to voluminous to process.

As noted in earlier correspondence the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act) contains two 'practical refusal reasons'. The first being, that processing the request 'would substantially and unreasonably divert the resources of the agency from its other operation' (s.24AA(1)(a)). An agency may also refuse an FOI request if the agency is satisfied that the request does not 'provide such information concerning the document as is reasonably necessary to enable a responsible officer of the agency to identify' the document in question (s.24AA(1)(b)). The purpose of this notice is to advise you (as required under s.24AB of the Act) that I consider that a 'practical refusal reason' exists under s.24AA of the Act and that I am considering refusing access to the documents in the form requested, as provided under s.24 of the Act.

We would like to assist you with your request, however, in order for your FOI request to be processed please consider ways to reduce the scope of your request to a more manageable size. You may wish to consider refining the scope of your request to just the decision reports. This will result in a less voluminous amount of documents and more refined third party consultation.

Please do not hesitate to contact the department on (02) 6274 7393 or by email at [email address] to revise the scope of your request to a more workable scope.

Please note your matter is considered on hold at this time. You may consult with us on the scope of your request during the consultation period which is from the date of this notice until close of business on 7 December 2020. If we do not hear from you in that period that matter is deemed withdrawn.
